Share the facts, adapt the writing
A service’s scope and contact details should not change accidentally between language versions. Keep those facts in a common knowledge base. The explanation can still use natural vocabulary and a different sentence structure. Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong readers needs its own editorial attention rather than a character conversion alone.
Link actual equivalents
Google’s localized-version guidance asks for self-references and return links. Each language page should identify the other versions of that same content. A missing translation should not silently link to an unrelated page just to complete a language list. Internal navigation should also make the language choice understandable to readers.
Check the complete journey
Open an answer, switch language, and confirm the same question remains in view. Review titles, summaries, source links, structured data and the enquiry path. Test at a narrow mobile width because longer Chinese or English labels can change navigation height. Hreflang describes alternatives; it does not make weak translations useful or guarantee a ranking outcome.
